Castle Cottage has an enviable location in Kielder Forest Park and a fabulous view of Kielder Castle.
Relax and unwind in our comfortable and cosy cottage. Enjoy our spacious gardens and summer house. Red squirrels and a variety of birds are regular visitors !
The area is famous for its International Dark Sky status and we are only 2.5 miles from award winning Kielder Observatory with its wide range of stargazing events.
We have 2 bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate 4/5 guests. Two well behaved dogs are also welcome.
Bring your bikes - we have secure bike storage together with off road parking for 2/3 vehicles.
Castle Cottage is equally perfect for a peaceful relaxing break or an adventure packed holiday - enjoy outdoor activities by day and be mesmerised by our spectacular dark skies at night.

Over 200 years old and originally part of the Duke of Northumberlands stable block, Castle Cottage is a 2 bedroom, single storey, self-catering holiday cottage comprising :

Things to do
The vast forest surrounding Kielder Water has numerous bike trails, walks and art projects to explore together with 3 visitor centres. You won't be short of outdoor pursuits with walking, cycling, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, sailing, crazy golf and archery to choose from together with Lakeside swimming pool and gym. Hire a bike to explore or choose to relax with a cruise on the Osprey Ferry. Visit Kielder Salmon Centre, escape from the Minotaur Maze or follow the Zog trail. Read More....
Kielder has an abundance of wildlife including red squirrels, roe deer and osprey. Kielder Bird of Prey Centre is also well worth a visit.
Kielder Village and local pub are within 1 mile. Bellingham is 19 miles distant and Hexham 32 miles. If you would like to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders during your stay; Hadrians Wall and the Northumbrian coast are within driving distance and we are only 5 miles from the Scottish Border.
